ABOUT
Caroline Dimnik was born in Calgary, Canada and took up painting as a teenager. She began post-secondary studies in art history and literature at the University of Carlton in Ottawa, and eventually moved to Paris, a city she has called home for the past 30 years.
In Paris, Caroline discovered her love for art in a more experiential manner — she studied French Civilization at the Sorbonne and took photography classes while immersing herself in the French culture and language. Caroline joined at a contemporary art gallery in Paris where she soon took over the directorship. While the work was demanding and rewarding it made her crave further credentials. She returned to Toronto (Canada), where she broadened her hands-on, fine arts experience at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD).
While studying in Toronto, she embraced further gallery opportunities. The work was clearly her passion. As Director and Curator at Gallery Gong, she also supported the team at Linda Genereux Fine Art. The OCAD program encouraged work abroad, which allowed Caroline the opportunity to expand her own training in Florence, Italy, as part of a studio painting program. Her own work took on new life, inspired by the beauty and history of her surroundings.
Caroline eventually returned to Paris to become Director at the Galerie Farideh Cadot. Seeing opportunity, she built one of the first digital galleries in France, Caroline Dimnik Contemporary (CDC). She represented her artists online, exposing them to global markets, while also exhibiting their work at art fairs in Paris, Turkey, the United States, and Canada.
For the past 13 years, Caroline has worked as a Cultural Curator. Her assiduous career path underscores the culmination of a life spent in pursuit of a much deeper understanding of the art world and instilled the aspiration to impart that wisdom to those who share her passion.
